Mathilde Gros signed the fourth fastest time in the speed qualifying at the track cycling world championships on Thursday in Roubaix, before qualifying for the quarter-finals.

The young Provençale, aged 21, was credited with a time of 10”533 just 44 thousandths of a second from the German Lea Sophie Friedrich, the fastest in the 200 meters launched (10”489).
In the round of 16, the French beat an old acquaintance, Russian Anastasiia Voinova, whom she had already dominated in the quarterfinals at the recent European Championships.
In the men’s keirin tournament, Rayan Helal qualified for the final, scheduled for the evening, after resorting to the draft to advance to the second round. On the other hand, Sébastien Vigier could not find an opening in his series of the second round and took 5th place (the first three qualified for the final).
