Shortly before noon, they recaptured two detainees aged 30 and 18 who had escaped this morning from the First Oberá police station, located in the heart of the city.

Police sources reported that the suspects took advantage of an oversight by the guard at the time they were being examined by the doctor in the unit’s health sector. They jumped the perimeter wall and disappeared into the streets.

They mentioned in a statement that a lockdown and raking operation had been initiated in several locations in the downtown area and in this context, in the municipality of San Martin, they intercepted the fugitives aboard a motorcycle.

It was explained in this sense that both had been delayed this morning on suspicion of having stolen clothing from a store located on Córdoba Street, owned by the sister of one of the accused.

They were housed in another police station, at the disposal of the Investigating Court 2, while the Police Headquarters began an internal investigation to determine the responsibilities of the uniformed men in the escape.
