Traveling in the Yvelines to play in a charity match, the President of the Republic Emmanuel Macron impressed the spectators by scoring a goal from the penalty spot!
Emmanuel Macron is on all fronts. While many candidates have already announced their candidacy for the next presidential elections, the current head of state has yet to give any indication of whether or not he wants to serve a second term. Too busy in recent months because of the health crisis and the start of the school year, he still managed to take some time (always in a professional context) for a good cause. This Wednesday, October 14, Emmanuel Macron went to Poissy, in the Yvelines to participate in a football match with the Club de France varieties, in order to support the Yellow Pieces. And beware: The President of the Republic has scored a goal!
A football match for the benefit of the Yellow Pieces
On the occasion of the fiftieth anniversary of Varieties Club de France, Emmanuel Macron put on his crampons towards the football stadium. This club, founded in 1971, brings together public figures such as Laurent Blanc, Alain Giresse, Dominique Rocheteau, Richard Gasquet. Robert Pirès, Christian Karembeu, the former international Laure Boulleau and Marcel Desailly. And for this exceptional match, the players face a team from the Poissy Saint-Germain-en-Laye hospital center. The goal ? Raise as many funds as possible for the Fondation Hôpitaux de Paris-Hôpitaux de France, chaired by Brigitte Macron, as part of the Yellow Pieces operation.
Emmanuel Macron opens the scoring!
The match started in eastern Paris at 5:15 p.m. The head of state has taken up his post as a defensive midfielder, with the number 3 on the back. While the players have been fighting each other for several minutes already, his team must take a penalty. And it is the President of the Republic who stuck to it. Surprise! This Olympique de Marseille fan sent the ball straight into the cages, allowing his team to open the scoring. A victory that he was able to celebrate with his teammates.
