A few minutes after being vice-world champion in the 200 meter butterfly on Tuesday, the Toulousain once again shone in the Budapest basin in the 200 meter medley.
Even the protocols did not get the better of his determination. Léon Marchand qualified for the final of the 200m medley on Tuesday June 21 with the best time (1’55″75) of the semi-finals. As if that weren’t enough, the nugget of French swimming signed, in the Budapest swimming pool, a new best French mark and, therefore, a personal record. “I had focused on the 200m medley at the base. I had the best time today and I will do the best I can tomorrow in the final”reacted the French at the microphone of France Télévisions.
And that just a few minutes after leaving the Duna Arena pool, with a second place in the 200-meter butterfly final. The young Toulousain even, before that, participated in the medal protocol of the race before finding himself again in the water a few minutes later. “It’s simple. We had everything prepared and organized with Bob (Bobwman). I went directly to recover after my race, I put on my outfit and on the podium I was already thinking about another race”reacted the young French champion.
