In the middle of the day of protest of the ranchers in Magdalena, which took place on Sunday, a video was released on social networks that caused concern: the parade of a private security group in trucks, in which you could even see men in camouflage, and that they organized in that guild to, according to them, be ready to defend their lands against possible invasions like those that have been reported in Cauca.

In the recording, which was made with a drone, a row of more than more than 20 vehicles and some motorcyclists moving along a country road.

The fact provoked reactions from those who fear that a new wave of violence could be provoked, as was the case of the former congressman and chief of staff of the Bogota Mayor’s Office, Antonio Sanguino.

“This reaction and show of force by sectors of cattle ranchers in Magdalena may be the prelude to the return of extreme right-wing violence. It must be confronted with authority by the State and forcefully rejected by the whole society! (sic) ”, he pointed out in his reaction to the video.

Even the political humorist and journalist Daniel Samper Ospina trilled about the parade of the ranchers’ private security vans: “What a nightmare, the history of Colombia is that of a snake that bites its tail…”.

in demonstrations 400 farmers from the department of the towns of San Ángel, Tenerife, Plato, Granada and Pinto participated who were in the village of Los Chivos. They indicate that more than 4,000 hectares are at risk where 500 families reside who live from this agricultural activity.

As indicated there are groups that are marking their properties with spray and arbitrarily delimiting the territory in the last weeks.

More than 20 vans, in which men can even be seen wearing camouflage, paraded down a village road. This is the private security of ranchers in Magdalena who seek to prevent land invasions.

It must also be remembered that recently the president of the Colombian Federation of Cattlemen (Fedegán), José Felix Lafaurie, pointed out that behind these claims there are criminals who even have legal advice to take over the land.

“There is a group, even supported by lawyers, that promotes this type of invasion. They hire third parties, to whom they give important commissions on the invasions. They even link Venezuelans or people from the environment, they pay them 70,000 pesos a day to invade farms”, express.
