Visit to the historic hunting lodge Villa Maund

On a bright summer’s day, members of the Seniors’ Association took the bus to Hinterhopreben in the Bregenzerwald and took a shuttle bus to Villa Maund.

There we were welcomed with a glass of sparkling wine. Mister Roland Moss introduced us to the history of the historic villa with great enthusiasm. It was built in 1890 by the English banker and alpinist Sir John Oakley Maund. Many hunting parties used the villa, including the German Crown Prince Wilhelm von Hohenzollern. We were then taken through the magnificent rooms of the villa, which are still used today for weddings and other celebrations. The Jagdhaus Villa Maund is still one of the most important historical monuments in Vorarlberg. On behalf of the Dornbirn Seniors’ Association, Mrs Kriemhild Kolb to Mr. Moos for the information presented in such a flowery way. Strengthened, after a snack with cake and coffee served by the Gasthaus Adler team, we drove back with many colorful impressions and memories.
