Luca Waldschmidt could change clubs in the last meters of the transfer market. As reported by the ‘Wolfsburger Allgemeine Zeitung’, the attacking player is about to leave VfL Wolfsburg. A loan to VfB Stuttgart is in the room.
The 26-year-old came to Lower Saxony in the summer of 2021 for twelve million euros from Benfica Lisbon. However, Waldschmidt could not justify his comparatively high fee. In the current season, there are only 348 minutes of action across all competitions.
At VfB Stuttgart, the seven-time national player would probably play a much larger role. Coach Bruno Labbadia sounded the alarm at the press conference after the recent 2-1 defeat by RB Leipzig due to his club’s reluctance to transfer: “The competitors have struck, Augsburg has invested, even Schalke have invested more.” Waldschmidt could be the desired newcomer.
