Warcraft 3: Reforged was released over two years ago, and fans have been waiting for some important features that were present in the original game ever since. Apart from all the things that Blizzard promised but didn’t deliver. This includes, for example, a ranking list and correct player profiles. Due to the immense disappointment that Warcraft 3: Reforged caused among players, the title was the lowest rated Blizzard game on Metacritic for a long time. Then Blizzard released Diablo Immortal to replace Reforged.
A few weeks ago, however, Blizzard boss Mike Ybarra announced that we should finally have news on the title in June of this year, and this time Blizzard made good on their promise. In a new one forum post Blizzard shared version 1.33.0 of Warcraft 3: Reforged, which is now available on the PTR.
New patch to Warcraft 3: Reforged finally brings ranked games
The new update brings a whole host of new things that players have been asking for since the title’s release. For one thing, there’s finally a ranked mode, with standalone seasons. Player MMR is unique for each playable race, with eight different ranks that users can achieve within a season. As soon as a season comes to an end, the ranking is also reset. However, players will be able to view their old ranks on their profile.
The player profiles, on which you can see your rank, are now finally part of the game. To access a player profile, all you have to do is right-click your icon or another player’s name. Finally, the patch also brings some balancing changes for some campaign missions.
We were actually hoping that Warcraft 3: Reforged would get some of these updates as early as last year, with some Blizzcon announcements. You can find out what else we want from the title in a separate article. The new features may come a little late, but at least they show that Blizzard hasn’t completely given up on bringing Warcraft 3: Reforged to a presentable state.
