Autumn is about to leave us, the cold is setting in and bad weather is back. In a weather alert, the national meteorological office warned this Friday, November 26 against heavy rainfall, expected in the western and southern regions.
They are indeed Oran, Naama, Biskra, Ouled Djellal, Djelfa, El Bayadh, Ain Temouchent. In addition, Mostaganem, Chlef, Batna, M’sila, Laghouat and Tiaret. According to the ONM, these wilayas will experience around 40 mm of rain, from the afternoon of Friday, November 26 until 9 a.m.
Snowfall expected from this weekend
A few days ago, Météo Algeria announced the start of snowfall. “Snowfall is expected on the heights of the west of the country this evening, before spreading overnight to the summits of the center of the country, the highlands and the Aurès”, indicated the National Meteorological Office. on his Facebook page.
In fact, bad weather and climatic fluctuations are back after a short period of calm that reigned over all Algerian regions. According to the same source, heights exceeding 900 meters will be at the rendezvous with snowfall whose thickness will vary between 10 and 15 centimeters.
These are mainly the heights of El-Bayadh, Tiaret and Naâma. As a result, the cold will set in and the temperatures will drop considerably. Thus, strong winds exceeding 50 km / h will be expected in the coastal areas, in particular Annaba, Skikda, Jijel, Arzew and Bouharon. The sea, for its part, will be very rough with waves whose height will exceed the meters.
