A few hours ago the Italian publisher Saldapress has communicated on its social channels that it will publish Crossover from Donny Cates e Geoff Shaw, published in the USA by Image Comics.

Saldapress will release Donny Cates and Geoff Shaw’s Crossover

After Buzzkill, Redneck e The Paybacks, the Emilian publisher Saldapress will also bring to Italy Crossover, the latest comic written by Donny Cates and drawn by Geoff Shaw and currently still being published in America by the publisher Image Comics.

Crossover, just as the title mentions, is a series (of which 8 have been stapled at home) in which we will see universes and characters from all over the world of American comics converge, between quotes, tributes and cameos, in the real world. Just as Image’s presentation for the series mentions, “We imagine that everything we ever thought was fantastic… is real. Let’s get ready to take a leap into a world where reality no longer exists … And everything is possible“. In a world that has banned comics and superheroes themselves, how will those who still believe in those figures of paper and ink and those who consider them a heresy ever react to seeing heroes and villains appear galore?

Saldapress is obviously not new to the eclectic and absurd titles of the Texan writer Donny Cates, having already published many of his independent comics: the publisher already has in its catalog Buzzkill, The Paybacks, Babyteeth, Relay, Redneck e The Ghost Fleet, all comics that you can find on Amazon.it. In particular, the first two titles seem to be set in the same universe as Crossover.

The first issue of Crossover, by title Crossover 1 – Guys like chains (title that takes the name of the independent label that Cates opened together with the designer Ryan Stegman), does not yet have a precise release date, but Saldapress has announced that the register will be published at the beginning of 2022. As regards its collaboration with Marvel, Cates has recently left the management of Venom, series that is already starting with a new creative team, to launch immediately after the new series of Hulk after the management of Al Ewing e Joe Bennet.
