Users of the messaging app Discord, Slack, and Messenger have several available emoji with which to react to messages on both group and individual chats. On WhatsApp, on the other hand, the function of reaction is not yet available. Rumors have been going on since August about the imminent arrival of reactions also on WhatsApp, but in recent weeks the confirmations have been few. Until today, at least.
Some observers of WABetaInfoIn fact, they report that the feature is also about to be activated on the world’s most popular messaging app. Starting from the next updates, WhatsApp users will have another way to interact with their contacts, faster and in some ways easier than the classic text message. The reactions will understand 6 emoji which can be accessed by holding down the message to reply for a long time. Most likely, the package will include the most common emojis, such as “thumb up” e “heart”, but it is not certain that the options will not increase in the future.
For now, however, the tipster claims that the emojis available will be limited, and those hoping for a wide variety of stickers may be disappointed.
Furthermore, users will be able to react to a message only once and – on group chats – the reaction it will not be anonymous. In the screenshot shared by WABetaInfo we see that the recipient will be able to view all the reactions received with the names of the senders next to them and also filter them based on a specific emoji.
For the actual release of this function we will have to wait a little longer. In any case, the leaker claims that the reactions are currently under development on both the Android and iOS apps.
