The worst was feared, but happily the end of the story was the most awaited by all: the 13-year-old boy who had disappeared last Friday in the Altos de San Lorenzo neighborhood area appeared safe and sound. Now the investigators hope that he will tell where he was and with whom, since he appeared wearing different clothes than when he disappeared.
They were three days of extreme concern and tension for RJR’s relatives and friends, of whom nothing was known. His disappearance had become a matter of national importance and his photo traveled through different social networks with one goal: a happy ending. So it was.
In this way, the little boy from La Plata, who had been intensely searched since the weekend, was found yesterday afternoon, around 5:30 p.m., by the police authorities in the Parador 7 area, in Punta Lara, Ensenada. “He was wandering,” they detailed.
As they had revealed from his family circle, during midday on Friday, January 20, the boy left his home located on Calle 29 between 86 and 87, around 1:00 p.m., with the alleged intention of going to play on the PlayStation. with a friend who lives about ten blocks away, but he never came.
As a result of not having heard from the minor, and after long hours of searching, the family made the decision to file a complaint at the 8th police station in La Plata.
Once done, the whole operation began. The Buenos Aires Police conducted an investigation in the open field near the home of the missing teenager. In the same way, they searched for him on social networks, since different users viralized photographs of the minor.
This continued on Monday: the officers, friends, relatives, and neighbors of the boy continued with the investigation into a vacant lot located a few meters from 90th Street and from the teenager’s home.
However, yesterday, after joint work between the personnel of the Ensenada and La Plata departments, which included raking the iron bridge and surrounding areas, the minor was finally found safe and sound in Punta Lara.
In this context, the officers contacted his relatives, and especially his mother, whose soul returned to her body.
“We never lost hope”
Once the appearance was confirmed, María, the baby’s mother, was emotional and after breaking down in tears with her family, she thanked both the neighbors and the authorities who participated in the operation. “We never lost hope,” she said.
The particular detail of the child’s clothing
At the time of the disappearance, RJR was wearing a light blue T-shirt and red shorts with white lines on the sides and red sneakers, but when he was found yesterday he was wearing other clothing.
A resident of Punta Lara, who had seen images of the wanted minor, saw him in a booth near the Néstor Kirchner Parador and notified the police. It was at that moment that DDI agents went to the place and found him safe and sound.
The teenager was wearing an aqua green T-shirt with an image on the chest and blue jeans, and had a gray jumpsuit, clothes that were not the ones he was wearing when he disappeared.
The minor was transferred to the DDI, where the doctors checked him to rule out any injury, and then he was reunited with his mother, with whom he melted into a hug.
It is expected that the young man can explain to the court if he left voluntarily or was taken by someone, in order to determine if there was any previous situation that made the intervention of the local Childhood and Adolescence agency necessary, the sources consulted revealed.
