World Children’s Day: For the children in Oberhausen, the grounds of the City Sports Association will be transformed into an exercise paradise on Sunday, September 25th.

The Children’s Office of the City of Oberhausen has come up with something very special on the occasion of World Children’s Day for Sunday, September 25th: From 1 to 5 p.m. on the grounds of the City Sports Association at Lindnerstraße 2a, the motto is “Together we can make things happen!” “.

Together with kindergartens, clubs and institutions, an exciting program with many attractions for children has been created, which has been specially scheduled for the Sunday when as many families as possible have no work. Because the actual World Children’s Day falls on Tuesday, September 20th this year. During the corona pandemic, however, many children missed exercise and sports offers in particular. That’s why the grounds of the City Sports Association will be transformed into a paradise for them on September 25th.

Dance workshop lures in front of the stage

From movement construction sites, bouncy castles, obstacle courses to numerous handicrafts and games, there are offers to join in and try out. World Children’s Day in Oberhausen will be opened at 1.30 p.m. by Mayor Werner Nakot. Afterwards, the association for the care of school children invites you to a dance workshop in front of the stage.




Dance performances by TSK Schwarz Gold Oberhausen, the Mini Stars Cheerleader and a folk dance by the Turkish community in Oberhausen complete the programme. The mascots Theo Tonne from the environmental department of the city of Oberhausen, the underdog from RWO and EVO mascot Rasmus also insisted on being there. The children’s songwriter “Buddy Ollie” also wants to ensure a lot of fun. Of course, the physical well-being is also taken care of. There is also good news for everyone arriving by public transport: All children under the age of 15 can travel free of charge on the Stoag buses to and from the Stadtsportbund grounds on September 25th.
