YouTube Music now reaches smartwatches with Wear OS 2 or the Snapdragon Wear 3100

YouTube Music for Wear OS should reach other smartwatches – Google had that confirmed as early as the end of September 2021. Now the time has come. For example, our reader Andy made us aware that the app for YouTube Music had already arrived on his Gen 5 Fossil smartwatch. In general, wearables should now be supplied with the Snapdragon Wear 3100 and Wear OS 2.

Previously, in the first step, only devices with the newer Snapdragon Wear 4100 or 4100+ could be enjoyed – for example the Fossil Gen 6 or the Mobvoi TicWatch Pro 3. Now, however, the promise on the part of Google has been fulfilled that previous generations may also use YouTube Music. With a waiting period of only two weeks, this is also a very reasonable framework.

YouTube Music allows you to load playlists onto the smartwatch on the devices and play them from there without a connected smartphone. The Smart Downloads even automatically refresh the available material for you, provided the Smartwatch is charging and is connected to the Wi-Fi network. However, what you need to use the functions mentioned is a premium subscription.

You can find downloads, recommendations and a library on the wearables in YouTube Music. The areas then contain, for example, an offline mixtape, tracks you liked and the discover mix.
