Actions against observers are a sign of defeat

CARACAS.- The presidential candidate of the Democratic Unitary Platform, Edmundo Gonzalez Urrutiastated that the recent actions of the Venezuelan regime against international observers demonstrate its state of “despair” and reflect their “imminent defeat” in the upcoming elections on July 28.

During a live In a post on his Instagram account, Gonzalez stressed that the Venezuelan regime’s attempt to limit the participation of international observers is a “clear sign” that the opposition is getting closer to achieving victory.

In another vein, González Urrutia said that the government is aware that, as participation increases, the distance between the opposition forces and Nicolás Maduro also increases, which is why it invites Venezuelans to vote en masse.

The opposition candidate also insisted that voting is “absolutely secret,” urging the population to exercise their right and not fall into strategies that seek to discourage voters.

“I am convinced that we will win and this conviction comes from all the studies that show that we are moving forward and also from the desperate measures of the regime,” the presidential candidate reiterated.

As for the fear that public employees of the ruling party may experience in the event that Edmundo González Urrutia emerges victorious in the contest, he assured that they “will not suffer persecution for their political stance and will not be victims of any type of blackmail.”

González also addressed the issue of the Venezuelan diaspora. He said that what has moved him most during the electoral campaign are the people who take him by the arm and tell him that he is their “last hope” to reunite with their loved ones. He assured that, after the elections on July 28, the necessary conditions will be created so that migrants can return to Venezuela.

The candidate recalled that on the occasion “we received the Panel of Electoral Experts of the United Nations. We thanked them for their presence and the interest of the Secretary General of the UN in sending this special mission that will accompany the development of our electoral process.” Despite all the circumstances and all the obstacles, it is clear that “the world is watching us and supporting us” in the electoral day of this Sunday where “the government will suffer an imminent defeat.”
