FC Bayern has achieved great success on the international market for top talent. As reported by ‘beIN Sports Australia’, the signing of winger Nestory Irankunda from Adelaide United is nearing completion. The 17-year-old will therefore “for a considerable sum” move to Munich.
However, this will not be the case until the summer of 2024. The 2023/24 season sees Irankunda continue to mature at Adelaide before making the leap to Europe. The people of Munich meet Irankunda’s wish.
“Do not rush”
The newly crowned Australian A-national player recently emphasized that he wanted to take his time with his development: “I’m not going to rush it just because it’s about Europe. It’s about my career. There have been many Australian players who have made the wrong move and have not fared as well.” The tech-savvy powerhouse need “maybe three or four seasons”until he was ready for a transfer to the big leagues.
Irankunda are currently taking the Australian A-League by storm. In his second season as a professional, the teenager is involved in a goal every 69 minutes on average, despite limited playing times. In total, the explosive winger has five goals and two assists in 19 part-time appearances. With his talents and sheer endless potential, the youngster is considered the most exciting talent in A-League history.
