Andy Murray confirms that Paris 2024 is his last tournament

PARIS-. Andy Murraytwo-time Olympic singles champion, confirmed on Tuesday that he will end his career next week at the Paris Games.

“I’m already in Paris for my last tennis tournament,” the 37-year-old Briton said on social media X.

Paris 2024 tennis will kick off on Saturday on the clay courts at Roland Garros.

Murray claimed his first Olympic gold on the grass of Wimbledon at the 2012 London Games, beating Roger Federer in three straight sets in the final. He repeated as champion in Rio de Janeiro 2016 by beating Argentine Juan Martin del Potro on hard courts.

“Competing for (Great Britain) has been by far the most memorable weeks of my career and I am extremely proud to be doing it again!” Murray said on Tuesday.

Murray had to get a hip replacement in 2019 and has since suffered other injuries. He withdrew from the Wimbledon singles draw this month after undergoing a procedure to remove a cyst from his spine.
