WILLOWBROOK, Illinois — Several people were shot early Sunday morning during a gathering in a parking lot in suburban Chicago, television stations reported.
DuPage County officials say one person was killed.
Video showed the parking lot littered with rubble and police tape in Willowbrook, about 20 miles southwest of Chicago.
“It was supposed to be like a June 19th celebration. We started hearing gunshots so we went down until they stopped,” witness Markeshia Avery told WLS-TV.
Another witness, Craig Lotcie, said: “Everyone ran and it was chaos.”
