A 48-year-old man drove on Sunday afternoon (May 7, 2023) in a regional express towards Bamberg. In Hof around 12:00 p.m., a 17-year-old mother and her child boarded the train, which the man then approached.
According to the Würzburg police inspection, the man touched the young woman’s face several times and tried to kiss her against her will. In the meantime, the train stopped in Münchberg, where an 18-year-old got on and wanted to walk past the 48-year-old. The perpetrator put his foot in her way. As she tried to climb over it, the man grabbed her buttocks.
The two women then called the train attendant for help, who separated the man. An alarmed patrol by the federal police finally arrested the perpetrator at the Bamberg train station. After completion of the police measures, he was able to leave the office again. The Federal Police Inspectorate in Würzburg has initiated criminal proceedings for insult and sexual harassment.
