LAS VEGAS – President Joe Biden tested positive for COVID-19announced this Wednesday the White House it’s a statement.

“He is vaccinated and boosted, and is suffering from mild symptoms,” presidential spokeswoman Karine Jean-Pierre said in the statement. The 81-year-old president and Democratic candidate for re-election, who was scheduled to campaign in Las Vegas, had a runny nose and cough, according to the medical report shared by the White House.

Biden canceled his attendance at a campaign event scheduled to take place on Wednesday in Las Vegas where he was to give a speech.

The White House spokeswoman said the president will return to Delaware, where he will continue to “fully perform all of his duties” while in isolation. She also recalled that he is vaccinated – with booster doses – and added that he is experiencing mild symptoms.

The statement added a note from Biden’s doctor, which said that during the afternoon he had symptoms such as a runny nose and cough. “Since he was not feeling better, he was tested for COVID-19 (…) and the results were positive,” he confirmed.
