Bluesky wins app for Android

Bluesky now has an app for Android. Android phone owners can now natively access Twitter founder Jack Dorsey’s new social network, but invitation is still required.

The new platform drinks from the same source as the original Twitter: there is a focus on short text posts, but there is also support for photos, videos and GIFs. In the iPhone app, the interface is separated into tabs for home, search and notifications and interactions are made in comments, shares and likes.

In the future, Bluesky will allow the user to choose the content recommendation algorithm. The function is still under development, however, if implemented, it should be one of the main differentiators compared to other networks.

Access to Bluesky is still restricted to guest users. The measure serves to control the volume of creation of new accounts, avoiding overloading the servers — as a result, it also builds more expectations among users who are outside.

Bluesky can be downloaded from the Play Store

Even without an invitation, any user can download Bluesky (Android | iOS). However, without an invitation you cannot get past the login screen.
