Buzz Aldrin, the legendary astronaut who walked on the Moon, married for the fourth time at the age of 93

the legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin married for the fourth time at 93 years. His brand new wife Anca Faur, is 30 years younger than him.

Aldrin, who turned 93 on Friday and was part of the historic first moon landing mission in history, posted the news on his Twitter account: “On my 93rd birthday and the day I will also be honored by the Living Legends of the Aviation, I am pleased to announce that my forever love, Dr. Anca Faur, and I have married. We have joined in holy matrimony in a small private ceremony in Los Angeles and we are as excited as runaway teenagers.”

Faur, 63, currently works as the executive vice president of Buzz Aldrin Ventures LLC, and has been listed on her LinkedIn page as having worked for the company since 2019. She has a Ph.D. in chemical engineering from the University of Pittsburgh and was the treasurer of the Business Council of California Hydrogen.

Aldrin has been married and divorced three times previously, to Joan Ann Archer from 1954 to 1974, Beverly Van Zile from 1975 to 1978, and Lois Driggs Cannon from 1988 to 2012. The second man to touch the surface of the Moon has three children -James , Janice and Andrew- with his first wife Archer.

On July 16, 1969, Aldrin, Neil Armstrong, and Michael Collins blasted off from Earth into space on an unprecedented mission: to land humanity on the Moon for the first time.

Aldrin is best known for having saluted the American flag on the surface of the Moon during the lunar mission. apollo 11.

He retired from NASA in 1971 and in 1998 founded the ShareSpace Foundationa non-profit organization to promote the expansion of manned space exploration.

The retired astronaut has also kept himself in the public eye by making cameos in hit American TV series like Big Bang TheoryThe Simpsons and 30 Rock.

Aldrin has written several books and in recent years has advocated for the colonization of Mars. The astronaut claims that a “great migration” is necessary not only for exploration, but for the survival of the human race.

Last year, Aldrin made headlines again when the jacket he wore on his historic first mission to the lunar surface in 1969 went up for nearly $2.8 million at auction.

The jacket, which he wore to and from the Moon, bears Aldrin’s name tag on the left chest, above the Apollo 11 mission emblem, and the American flag on the left shoulder.

The garment made from a flame retardant material known as Beta cloth, which was incorporated into space suits in response to the fire that killed three astronauts aboard Apollo 1 in 1967.

The amount paid for the Apollo 11 jacket is the highest for an American space artifact ever sold at auction, according to Sotheby’s, which arranged the sale.

The price was nearly a third above pre-auction expectations as bidders went wild for the legendary jacket. The unnamed winner, who entered by phone, outbid several others in a bid that lasted nearly 10 minutes.

Apollo 11 lifted off from Cape Kennedy on July 16, 1969.carrying Commander Armstrong, Command Module Pilot Collins, and Lunar Module Pilot Aldrin to an initial Earth orbit of 114 by 116 miles.

Armstrong and Aldrin spent 21 hours and 36 minutes on the lunar surface. Reentry procedures began on July 24, 44 hours after leaving lunar orbit.

Apollo 11 landed at 13 degrees 19 minutes north latitude and 169 degrees 9 minutes west longitude on July 24, 1969.
