Cologne: No further transfers planned?

At 1. FC Köln, personnel planning in the current transfer window has apparently been completed. Managing Director Christian Keller told the ‘Bild’: “We wanted to get a nine – that’s what we’ve done now. I would never say ‘never’. Maybe someone else gets hurt. But there are no plans to do anything else.” The 44-year-old considers it unlikely that players will leave the club in winter: “Now I don’t see the need for anyone to want to change either.”

Just yesterday, Cologne signed Davie Selke (27), a new striker from Bundesliga competitor Hertha BSC. Further transfers are not planned despite numerous failures on the offensive. With Sebastian Andersson (31/meniscus surgery), Florian Dietz (24/cruciate ligament rupture), Mark Uth (31/groin surgery) and Jan Thielmann (20/muscle fiber rupture), four strikers are currently out on a long-term basis.
