Czech footballer spoke openly about his sexual orientation “I am homosexual”

After the repercussion caused by the former All Black player, Campbell Johnstone, when he announced that he is homosexual in a television interview in his country, New Zealand, to which he himself added: “If I can (…) eliminate the pressure and stigma surrounding it, I can actually help other people,” the soccer player from the Czech Republic, Jakub Jankto, also stated that he is homosexual on his social networks, accompanying his words with an emotional video.

The 27-year-old Czech athlete wrote a message where he highlights his qualities as a human being, both strengths, weaknesses and family and friendly affective ties, and emphasizes that “like everyone else” he intends to live with love. The highly emotionally charged message received a vast majority of messages of support for the soccer playerhaving as some of the main interactions, those of Juventus with a heart and a rainbow and his team, Getafe, with an emoji of applause.

The phrase that best describes the content of the message of the soccer player is “I am homosexual and I no longer want to hide”, accompanied by “I also want to live, but with love”, where you can see how even today, in free progressive countries that promote and defend human rights, there is a strong stigma on the part of citizens that causes shame to people who are simply not heterosexual.

It is known that both sexual identity and orientation on the same subject are not decisions, and even if they were, they should be respected just as there is respect for “normality”, all people deserve not to feel ashamed for what they are and access to services such as health, education, and security, things that are still denied, for example, to transvestites, who for this reason have a very short life expectancy. the athlete Jankto stated it with certainty when writing: “I also want to live my life in freedom. Without fears. Unprejudiced. without violence”.

Support from Getafe and Sparta Prague

In addition to reacting to Jankto’s publication with applause and hearts, Getafe commented: “our utmost respect and unconditional support for our soccer player Jakub Jankto. He spoke openly about his sexual orientation with the board of directors, the coach and his teammates at the club some time ago ”.

Players from Sparta Prague, an organization that sent messages of support to Jankto.

On the other hand, Sparta Prague wrote that “everything else refers to his personal life. No more comments. No more questions. You have our support. Live your life, Jacob. Nothing else matters”. Jacob played in 2022, two games for the Nations League, starting five games playing for the Czech Republic in the qualifiers. Despite his efforts, on that occasion, the team failed to qualify for the 2022 Qatar World Cup.
