House Democrats are investigating whether big oil companies have illegally colluded with each other and OPEC to inflate gas prices.

Congressman Frank Pallone Junior of the Energy and Commerce Committee sent a letter to ExxonMobil, Chevron, Hess, BP America and three other fossil fuel companies demanding a series of documents and communications.
The New Jersey Democrat wants to know if prices are being inflated to increase profits, while hitting the pockets of American consumers who have to pay more.
Oil companies have until June 5 to respond to the request.
