Face injury from chunks of ice falling from a truck in Schwarzenberg

Chunks of ice sliding off the roof of a small truck smashed through the windscreen of an oncoming car on Tuesday afternoon. The driver suffered facial injuries of an unspecified degree.

A car driver drove on Tuesday afternoon at around 3:07 p.m. in Schwarzenberg on Egger Straße (L28) towards Egg. In a long left turn, a white small truck came towards him, which lost larger pieces of ice from its roof. These fell on the front of the car and hit a handball-sized hole in its windshield.

The driver of the car suffered facial injuries of an undetermined degree and had to be admitted to Feldkirch Regional Hospital. Since the driver of the small truck involved in the accident may not have noticed what was happening, he and any witnesses to the accident are asked to report to the Egg police station (+43 (0) 59 133 8124).
