Two live games in the main round of the Handball World Championship are on the program of the Erste and the ARD media library: On Thursday, January 19, from 5.45 p.m. (start: 6 p.m.) the match between Germany and Argentina can be seen live from Kattowitz. After the convincing third victory in the preliminary round against Algeria, the German team started the main round as group winners. Argentina are supposedly the easiest opponents – a win should be a must if Germany wants to reach the quarter-finals. The most difficult task then awaits at the end of the main round next Monday, January 23, with the strong selection from Norway, which was also able to record three victories in the preliminary round. Das Erste and the ARD Mediathek will show the game live from Katowice from 8:15 p.m. (start: 8:30 p.m.). Both broadcasts from the Handball World Championship are offered with audio description and live subtitling. All three German main round games are also available as audio live streams on Sportschau.de and in the ARD Audiothek.
Interest in the Handball World Championship has been very high so far: 6.247 million viewers watched the live broadcast of the game Germany – Serbia in the first Sunday, January 15th, which corresponded to a market share of 25.5 percent.
