In the town of Santo Pipó, a man abandoned a van loaded with 4,119 kilos of marijuana. He abruptly stopped the march when he observed the Gendarmerie control, and ran towards the mountain, without being able to reach him.

The uniformed officers of Squadron 11 of San Ignacio intervened in the operation, who saw the striking scene and seized the drugs.

According to official information, upon seeing the checkpoint, the subject who was in control of a Mercedes Benz Sprinter braked abruptly, got out and ran away from the vehicle.

The uniformed men secured the area and carried out a search, without finding the escapee, according to what they stated.

Once they opened the box of the vehicle, they found that it was loaded with 4,119 kilos of marijuana, distributed in 4,163 packages.

The Federal Court and the Federal Prosecutor’s Office of the city of Oberá intervened in the events, who ordered the execution of the proceedings, the confiscation of the substance and the vehicle.

It is worth mentioning that hours before, in the town of Jardín América, the same Unit seized two tons of marijuana, so the total confiscated exceeds 6,000 kilos.
