Enrique Aarón Villarreal, 24, returned to prison after his mother was injured during an incident in which she complained to him about why he had not deposited money while he was incarcerated, Cameron County Sheriff Eric Garza said in a statement.

The incident occurred this past July 2 in the Cameron Park area of ​​Brownsville. When the agents arrived at the scene, Enrique’s mother reported that she had an argument with her son. According to the woman, he was angry with her for not having deposited money.

After the discussion, the young man left the residence. However, he returned, but his mother had locked the door and became furious, the statement said.

Then, in an attempt to enter the house, Enrique punched a window causing it to break. As he was breaking the window, her mother was standing behind her, so shards of glass hit her. The woman was taken to receive medical attention.

Now Enrique faces a charge of deadly conduct (family violence) for which he was admitted to the Carrizalez Rucker Detention Center. The investigation continues.
