Here, the children at Queen Silvia’s children’s hospital get to meet their favorite horses

In 2020, the Västra Götaland region withdrew riding as a form of therapy for people with disabilities because it was too expensive. The decision was based on the fact that horse-assisted therapy is a resource-intensive method and not compatible with the care mission.

Took matters into my own hands



Happiness was total when the children got the chance to meet the horses Trulle and Billy.

Two employees at the habilitation then reduced their working hours and started their own business. Now ten sick children pay privately to ride one day a week.

When Didrik Stillbäck was too ill to be able to ride during the fall, the company took the ponies to the hospital on Thursday. And the other children at the hospital were also allowed to participate.

– It means an awful lot to the children and relatives, says Camilla Ridderstråle, who took the horses there.
