Hispanic mother and her baby die in accident on Highway 99

SUTTER COUNTY, California – Sutter County authorities have identified the two victims of a fatal crash on Highway 99 in Northern California.

According to the California Highway Patrol (CHP) and the Sutter County Sheriff’s Office, a traffic collision mobilized both agencies to the Pease Road area, in the city of Live Oak, north of Sacramento.

The police report indicates that a head-on collision would have taken the lives of Allyson Navarro-Salazar, 21, and her one-year-old daughter.

Sutter County Sheriff’s officials say both victims died from the impact at the crash site.

Another male passenger in the crashed car was transported to UC Davis hospital.

The California Highway Patrol is investigating the crash and the other driver involved, who was apparently fleeing from authorities when he collided with the Navarro-Salazars’ vehicle.
