Hit and run in Berlin: Unknown drives to city cleaning employees

An employee of the Berliner Stadtreinigung (BSR) was hit and injured in a traffic accident in Berlin-Mariendorf on Wednesday morning. This was announced by the Berlin police on Wednesday.

According to this, an unknown driver drove along Britzer Straße in the direction of Mohriner Allee shortly after seven o’clock. For reasons that are not yet known, the driver then got into oncoming traffic with the vehicle and brushed against an oncoming truck.

When the stranger steered the car back into the right lane, she hit the BSR employee and caused her to fall. The 57-year-old has just cleaned the roadway near a traffic island. After the accident, the unknown person drove on in the direction of Mohriner Allee without stopping.

The BSR employee suffered hip and shoulder injuries in the accident. Paramedics took him to a hospital for treatment. A specialist commissioner for traffic offenses is leading the further investigations. (tsp)
