SWR – Südwestrundfunk

Stuttgart (ots)

Südwestrundfunk (SWR) is expanding its transmitter network for digital radio reception DAB+.

Commissioning of the Palzem site

The commissioning of the Palzem location on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 improves the DAB+ coverage in frequency block (channel) 11A on the Upper Moselle along the B419 and in the areas of Palzem, Kreuzweiler, Dilmar, Esingen, Helfant, Wehr and Wincheringen.

Südwestrundfunk can receive the stations SWR1 Rheinland-Pfalz, SWR2, SWR3, SWR4 Rheinland-Pfalz (with the regional programs SWR4 Kaiserslautern and SWR4 Koblenz, SWR4 Ludwigshafen, SWR4 Mainz and SWR4 Trier) as well as SWR Aktuell and DASDING.

DAB+ stands for “Digital Audio Broadcasting”, the digital distribution of audio signals via antenna in digital quality. DAB+ offers the best sound quality. In addition, the digital signal is less susceptible to interference and very robust, even when driving. In addition to the audio signals, additional multimedia services such as current news, traffic data, weather graphics, artists and music titles or images can be transmitted.
