In Sudan, the number of civilians killed in clashes between the Army and the FAR paramilitaries rises to 97

Khartoum, 17 Apr. At least 97 civilians have been killed and another 942 wounded during the first two days of clashes between the Sudanese Army and the powerful Rapid Support Forces (FAR) paramilitary group, the Sudanese Central Medical Committee reported.

This independent committee noted in a statement that during the second day of fighting in different parts of the country a total of 41 civilians “were killed”, mainly in the capital, Khartoum, and the towns of Bahri and Omdurman.

He also pointed out that the number of victims could be much higher since the emergency teams cannot move through different areas of the west of the country due to movement restrictions due to the intense clashes between the Army and the FAR.
