Inder eliminates repatriation requirement for emigrated athletes to compete for Cuba

The Institute of Sports, Physical Education and Recreation (INDER) of Cuba announced on his Twitter account that he is eliminating the repatriation requirement for athletes residing abroad to participate in events organized on the island.

“Once the necessary steps have been completed, we inform you that repatriation is no longer a requirement for Cubans residing abroad to participate in national events organized by IINDER,” the regime’s body indicated.

Although the biggest debates in this regard have been raised in baseball, the decision will impact other sports and disciplines.

According to INDER, “the measure is part of the efforts to take advantage of all the talent formed by the revolutionary sport, both to give shine to the domestic battles, as well as to the casts of the four glorious letters.”

In reality, it is due to the despair of sports leaders and politicians in the face of a long chain of failures and the disinterest of the athletes themselves in playing in domestic tournaments.
