Despite so many insiders claiming that Hangar 13 has now started working on Mafia IV in earnest, the game has not been announced yet. Still, it seems that studio and publisher 2K Games are so confident in the future of the series that they have begun sketching Mafia 5.
On LinkedIn it says in a job advertisement (via GamingBolt) that they are looking for an Executive Producer who will play a crucial role in a “succesful delivery of a major new title”. Specifically, they mention that the project is in pre-production at Hangar 13, but Mafia IV is already expected to be in full production, so it can’t be this title they mean.
The data matches one Bloomberg-report from journalist Jason Schreier last year, where he claimed that the studio is already working on Mafia 5 to make sure the wait between chapters isn’t too long.
