Martina Navratilova diagnosed with cancer again

Former tennis player Martina Navratilova has been diagnosed with cancer again. She was diagnosed with early-stage larynx and breast cancer in November, the 66-year-old said today, according to the Association of Professional Women Tennis Players (WTA). “This double disease is serious, but still curable.” She hopes “for a favorable outcome”.

“It’s going to suck for a while, but I’m going to fight with everything I have,” said the Czechoslovakian, who took US citizenship in 1981. She was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2010. Six months later, she declared that she was cancer-free.

The longtime number one and 18-time Grand Slam winner in singles lives in the USA. According to the WTA, her treatment will begin next week in New York.
