Ever since The Batman hit theaters in early 2022, fans have been eagerly awaiting news of what will happen next with this captivating take on the Dark Knight. Director Matt Reeves has now revealed in an interview with Collider that he is currently writing the script with co-writer Mattson Tomlin, and that the duo is very excited about what’s to come:
“We’re deep in it and my partner and I are writing, Mattson [Tomlin] and I am writing, and it’s really exciting, and I’m really excited about what we’re doing.”
This response came when Reeves was asked if he shot any movies this year, to which the director responded: “I’m not going to answer that question, but we are working on a movie. I’ll put it to you that way.”
So The Batman 2 doesn’t seem to be ready to shoot this year, or at least not until late 2023. Either way, it’s exciting to know that Reeves is in full swing and hard at work on the sequel.
