Miami-Dade Mayor Backs Kamala Harris in Breaking the Glass Ceiling of the Presidency

MIAMI.- Daniella Levine-Cava, Miami-Dade’s first female mayor, reacts enthusiastically to the nomination of Kamala Harris as a possible Democratic candidate for the presidential elections next November and closes ranks around President Joe Biden’s decision.

“Four years ago we made history in Miami-Dade with my election as the first female mayor; now I am energized to shatter another glass ceiling this November with Vice President Kamala Harris as our first Madam President,” Levine-Cava said on social media platform X.

“A former prosecutor, attorney general, U.S. senator, and consummate public servant, Vice President Harris has the courage and experience to lead our nation. This is a moment for ordinary Americans to come together to reaffirm that we are an extraordinary nation because of our people.”

“We stand united as we fight for families, their economic strength and security, and defend the very foundations of our democracy. History has shown that we are stronger when we stand together forever, and I know we will do just that this November with Vice President Harris leading the Democratic ticket.”

On Sunday, July 21, President Joe Biden announced that he would not seek reelection and would instead support Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for the White House.

Levine-Cava, meanwhile, is in the midst of a re-election campaign for mayor of Florida’s largest county.
