Microsoft Flight Simulator: World Update 13 available – This is new

After a major patch for the New Zealand region, the new World Update 13 takes hobby pilots even further east and south, more specifically to the islands of Oceania and Antarctica. Microsoft speaks of a graphics policy for over 13 countries and 28 non-sovereign areas. In addition, more than 150 points of interest (POIs) have been added to Flight Simulator in the updated areas, ranging from landmarks to photorealistic cities to arctic bases.

The trailer for World Update 13 shows a strong contrast program. From the icy reaches of the arctic McMurdo Station to Easter Island, which is politically part of Chile, to tropical destinations such as Bora Bora, Papua New Guinea, Fiji and Hawaii. In general, the graphic polish includes Polynesia, Melanesia, the Galapagos Islands and important regions of Antarctica, particularly the Antarctic Peninsula.

Oceania & Antarctica: New airports, missions and challenges

In keeping with this, Microsoft Flight Simulator players can head for six new airports in the regions mentioned, which have also been graphically enhanced – such as Kona International Airport in Hawaii. In Papua New Guinea, a collection of unpaved airstrips is also waiting to be tested. New discovery flights and landing challenges have also been added to the game. The missions include flying over the West Maui Mountains in a glider, over Tahiti in a Cessna 152, or over the Tarawa Atoll in the Pacific Ocean in a helicopter.

As usual, World Update 13 is free to download. The installation takes place automatically at the start of the game or optionally via the marketplace in the game. The Flight Simulator itself is part of the Game Pass for Windows PCs and Xbox Series X consoles, among other things. Individual purchases are also possible outside of Microsoft’s games flat rate.
