The new warning applies to Svartån through Tranås and Aneby municipalities. Earlier snowmelt and rain cause high flows. So far, no alarms have been received about flooded properties.
– No, we have not received any such alarms to the command center, says Fredrik Björnberg, who is the on-duty rescue manager in Jönköping County.
The warning for Svartån applies to high flows and not flooding, which is a different type of warning.
– It probably won’t last long, maybe a few days before it subsides.
Levels in the western parts are dropping
In the western parts of the county, which have been worst affected by the floods recently, things have started to calm down. The water level in both Lagan and Storån in Värnamo and Gnosjö is dropping, but the levels are still high.
– Yes, we have seen a big difference in some places, says Fredrik Björnberg.
At the same time, the freezing temperatures can become problematic for the property owners affected by the floods. At Lake Gisshultasjön between Nässjö and Eksjö, several flooded property plots have frozen to ice. See more about it in the clip below.
