Outage fixed after 40 minutes: 1200 households in Berlin-Friedenau briefly without electricity

There was a power outage in Friedenau late Tuesday evening. Around 1,200 households and 100 small businesses were affected in a radius of around 1.3 square kilometers around Cosimaplatz.

As a spokesman for Stromnetz Berlin GmbH confirmed, the fault occurred at 9:42 p.m. and was resolved after around 40 minutes. All households are supplied with electricity again. A 10-kilovolt cable fault is assumed to be the reason for the disruption, i.e. damage to the cable that supplied the affected households.

According to the spokesman for Stromnetz Berlin GmbH, the error could be remedied by redirecting to other supply cables. In the course of Wednesday they want to investigate the causes of the failure in more detail. (tsp)
