DENVER, Colorado – On Wednesday night, a severe hail storm ripped through much of Colorado, leaving seven people hospitalized and nearly 100 treated for injuries. According to firefighters, the hail hit concertgoers at the Red Rocks Amphitheater, located near Denver.
Followers of English singer-songwriter Louis Tomlinson were forced to seek shelter to protect themselves from the huge hailstones that fell on the Red Rocks amphitheatre. The intensity of the storm was such that the planned concert had to be cancelled.
According to West Metro Fire, the people taken to the hospital had injuries that were not life-threatening. Additionally, an additional 80 to 90 people received treatment for injuries at Red Rocks.
The injuries included cuts and broken bones, according to the agency.
Hail piled up like snow at the Morrison Amphitheater before the show started.
Tomlinson tweeted that he was “devastated” by what happened and vowed to return. “Even though the show didn’t take place, I felt all the passion from him! Sending you all the love!” he said.
