Premier League gets half a billion

Video game company EA Sport has secured the rights to the Premier League for years to come. As the ‘Times’ reports, the parties have agreed on a six-year contract, with the equivalent of around 540 million euros going to the Premier League. The sum of the new contract is twice as high as before.

For the upcoming edition of the video game FIFA, EA Sport has ended its cooperation with the world governing body. The next game will be called EA Sports FC. The new deal will allow EA to continue using the names of Premier League players and clubs. Representatives from all 20 clubs gathered at a shareholders’ meeting on Friday to give the league the necessary approval for the deal. Clubs and leagues benefit from working with EA.
