Ramadan 2023: Tebboune receives a call from his Iranian counterpart

The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received today, Sunday April 9, a telephone call from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raïssi, who presented him and the Algerian people with their best wishes for occasion of the holy month of Ramadan, indicates a press release from the Presidency of the Republic.

“The President of the Republic, Abdelmadjid Tebboune received, today, a telephone call from the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran, Ebrahim Raïssi who presented to him and to the Algerian people his best wishes on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadhan,” the statement read.

In turn, the Head of State “addressed his best wishes to the Iranian President and people”, the same source points out, indicating that the two Presidents “reviewed the state of bilateral relations, and agreed to promote and strengthen them in the political and economic fields in the best interests of the two peoples”.

The situation in Palestine mentioned by Tebboune and Raïssi

The two parties also referred to “the current situation in the occupied State of Palestine, which is witnessing abuses and attacks, particularly in the West Bank, and the desecration of the Al Aqsa mosque, a flagrant provocation against one and a half billion Muslims in this holy month”.

“The two presidents have also given their agreement in principle to exchange visits in the future,” the statement concluded.
