The former president of the United States Barack Obama has just announced its support for the nomination of Kamala Harris as the Democratic candidate for the November elections.
Barack and his wife Michelle called Kamala to announce their support for her race to keep the Party in the White House.
“We told her that we believe she will be a fantastic President of the United States and that she has our full support. At this critical moment for our country, we will do everything we can to ensure she wins in November. We hope you will join us,” the former president said on his Twitter account.
The conversation between the current vice president and the couple was broadcast on the platform.
Michelle was the first to speak, saying she couldn’t have this conversation with her “girl” Kamala without telling her how proud she is of her. “This is going to be historic,” she stressed.
“Michelle and I couldn’t be more proud to stand behind you and do everything we can to help you get through this election and into the Oval Office,” Obama added.
The Obamas join former President Bill Clinton and former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, who issued a statement Sunday announcing their support for Harris.
