South Florida politicians reject electoral farce in Venezuela and ask for respect for the people

MIAMI.- The results published by the National Electoral Council (CNE), which give victory in the Venezuelan presidential elections to Nicolás Maduro with 51.20% of the votes against Edmundo González Urrutia, who received 44.2% of the votes, have provoked a reaction from politicians in South Florida, who unanimously show their rejection of the electoral farce of the regime.

One of the first to react was the mayor of Miami-Dade, Daniella Levine-Cava, who this Sunday, July 28, was with the Venezuelan community in South Florida supporting and awaiting the results.

Miami-Dade Mayor Maduro said: “The Venezuelan people went to the polls yesterday to make their voices heard and demand freedom for their nation. Now, Maduro is attempting to steal the election despite exit polls showing a decisive victory for the opposition. The US and the international community must demand a transparent process for tallying the election results and send a clear message to the regime that we will not accept the rule of a dictator. President Biden and world leaders must act quickly to impose the most aggressive sanctions possible and send a clear and unwavering message that we stand with the Venezuelan people and that anything less than accepting the legitimate results will be met with strong action. The world is watching and we stand with the Venezuelan people in their fight for democracy and freedom.”

For his part, Kevin Marino Cabrera, commissioner of Miami-Dade District 6, stated through the social platform X: “Today, we firmly denounce the serious irregularities and electoral fraud perpetrated by the leftist and repressive regime of Nicolás Maduro in the recent Venezuelan elections. This blatant act of manipulation undermines the will of the Venezuelan people and challenges democratic principles throughout the hemisphere.

From Miami-Dade County, we stand in solidarity with the Venezuelan people and call on the international community, in particular the Biden administration, to take concrete measures to demand justice and guarantee a free and transparent electoral process in Venezuela.”

Representatives from South Florida in the federal Congress also raised their voices. Among them Senator Marco Rubio, who stated: “The Maduro regime has just carried out the most predictable and ridiculous farce election in modern history.

After announcing complete fraud in the election, expect the Maduro regime to now shut down the Internet inside Venezuela to make it difficult for those inside to communicate with each other and the world.

The only ‘attack’ on the elections in Venezuela is the fraud carried out by the CNE, which is controlled by the Maduro narco-terrorist regime.”

Federal representative Carlos Giménez said: “What is happening in Venezuela is a disgrace and we are already reporting everything to the US agencies. This is going to the end.”

Republican Congresswoman Maria Elvira Salazar reacted in the same tone when she published this warning:

“Maduro is once again brazenly trying to steal the elections. It is an insult to the Venezuelan people.

Congress will denounce him. The White House will denounce him. The international community will denounce him. It won’t be so easy this time. He won’t be able to sustain this aggression. Just Watch!
