Hogwarts Legacy will have no romance options, according to the game developers. Harry Potter fans have been waiting a long time to get their hands on Hogwarts Legacy, and it’s hard to believe, but the wait is almost over.
Anyone who pre-purchases the Hogwarts Legacy Digital Deluxe Edition will be able to start playing on Tuesday, February 7, while everyone else on PC, PS5, and Xbox Series X|S will have to wait until February 10 to see if the Long awaited open world Harry Potter game lives up to expectations or not.
Hogwarts Legacy has boasted many of the features it brings to the table, but hasn’t mentioned the possibility of romance options. The Harry Potter books and movies have dealt directly with romantic relationships, especially as the cast has grown older.
However, this particular aspect of the Harry Potter universe is not going to be the focus of Hogwarts Legacy, and now the developers have offered more information about why.
Moira Squier and Kelly Murphy, developers of Hogwarts Legacy, recently spoke to a German site about the lack of romance options in the game. According to Squier, the decision was made not to include romance options in Hogwarts Legacy because it would be “difficult to manage”, with Murphy noting that the game’s main character is only 15 years old.
“There are things we just didn’t want to touch on thematically.” Considering how old the characters are and how clumsy Harry Potter has been with love interests in the past, it’s probably for the best that Hogwarts Legacy doesn’t include any romance options.
