HAVANA.- The U.S. Embassy in Cuba The U.S. Embassy recently updated its guidelines for Cuban citizens seeking to emigrate, offering new options for obtaining information and assistance. In response to the crisis on the island and U.S. measures to control illegal immigration, the embassy stressed the importance of using official channels to avoid confusion.

The US Embassy stressed that its official website is the main resource for obtaining information about the immigration process. Through this portal, interested parties can find detailed answers to their questions without having to resort to social networks, where queries about individual cases will not be answered for privacy reasons.

“Out of respect for your privacy, we do not answer questions about specific cases on social media, but we are happy to assist you through our website,” states a Facebook post from the consular entity, according to a report. Marti News.

In addition to the website, the embassy introduced the Consular Navigatora Spanish-language tool designed to provide information on visas and immigration procedures. In situations requiring personalized attention, they undertake to respond within three business days.

For those who are experiencing difficulties with internet access, the U.S. Embassy has set up a dedicated telephone line for visa inquiries. This service is available Monday through Friday, from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., excluding holidays in the United States and Cuba. The Embassy also indicated that the Consular Information Unit will not handle inquiries about American Citizen Services or the Family Reunification Parole Program (CFRP).

Likewise, the consular entity announced a new service called Document Reviewaimed at applicants for immigration visas with scheduled appointments. This service seeks to prevent delays due to errors in documents or problems during the consular interview that may affect the issuance of the visa. Interested applicants should send an email to (email protected) with the subject “A88 Document Review” to access this assistance.

These initiatives are part of the U.S. Embassy in Cuba’s ongoing commitment to facilitate legal and safe immigration processes for Cuban citizens at a time of growing uncertainty on the island.
