According to a police report, the 32-year-old was about to put his child in a car seat in Residenzstrasse on Saturday afternoon when the 50-year-old cyclist “shouted xenophobic words at him and then punched him in the ribs with his fist.” The 50-year-old then lost control of his bike and collided with a parked car. Then the 32-year-old is said to have threatened him.

According to the police, the 32-year-old suffered pain in the rib area, which he initially did not want to have treated. The cyclist was unharmed. He was clearly under the influence of alcohol – a breath alcohol measurement showed a value of more than 2.7 per thousand. The man was temporarily taken into police custody. (dpa)
